Liquid Glass
For Your Paint

Ceramic coating is a liquid polymer that chemically bonds to your vehicle's factory paint, creating an ultra-thin layer of protection that wax and sealants simply can't match.

Unlike wax which lasts a few weeks, a properly applied ceramic coating creates a hard, semi-permanent shell that repels water, UV rays, road salt, bird droppings, tree sap, and bug splatter for years at a time.

At Mac's Mobile Detailing we apply GT Quartz coatings — one of the most respected ceramic and graphene products on the market — with a manufacturer warranty included on every package. We bring everything to you: water, power, climate-controlled prep, and certified application.

Whether you've got a brand-new vehicle off the lot or a daily driver you want to protect for the long haul, ceramic coating is the single best long-term investment you can make in your car's appearance.

How It's Done

A proper ceramic coating application is a multi-day process when done right. Cutting corners on prep is why most coatings fail. Here's our exact process.

01

Decon Wash

Full hand wash followed by iron remover and clay bar treatment to pull contaminants out of the paint that washing alone can't remove.

02

Paint Correction

Light polish to remove swirl marks, oxidation, and minor scratches. Coatings lock in whatever's underneath — so the paint must be perfect first.

03

Surface Prep

Panel-wipe with isopropyl alcohol to strip every trace of oil, polish residue, and wax so the coating bonds directly to bare clear coat.

04

GT Quartz Application

Coating applied panel-by-panel in controlled cross-hatch pattern, leveled to a uniform finish, and allowed to cure for 24+ hours before exposure to elements.

Choose Your Protection

All ceramic coating packages include full decon wash, paint prep, and GT Quartz application with manufacturer warranty. Pricing reflects sedan-size vehicles — SUVs, trucks, and vans add 15–30%.

Ceramic Coating FAQ

Answers to the questions we hear most often. Don't see yours? Call or text 732-614-8995.

How long does ceramic coating actually last?

It depends on which package you choose and how the car is maintained. Our 1-year package gives you a season of protection. The 3-year and 5-year GT Quartz packages last as long as the warranty states when you maintain the vehicle properly — meaning regular gentle washes and avoiding harsh chemicals or automated brush car washes.

Will ceramic coating prevent rock chips and deep scratches?

No — and any installer who tells you otherwise is lying. Ceramic coating's main job is hydrophobic protection, UV protection, and chemical resistance — not impact protection. For rock chip and scratch protection you'd need paint protection film (PPF). Many of our clients run PPF on the front bumper and hood with ceramic over the entire vehicle.

Do I have to do anything special before you arrive?

Just have your vehicle accessible in a covered or shaded area if possible — ceramic coating prefers cooler ambient temperatures and out of direct sun for application. We bring our own water, power, and supplies. Plan for the vehicle to stay parked for 24 hours after application to allow the coating to fully cure.

Can ceramic coating be applied to a used car?

Absolutely — in fact most of our ceramic clients have used vehicles. We just need to do proper paint correction first to remove existing swirls, scratches, and oxidation before coating. Any imperfections in the paint will be locked in by the coating, so prep is everything. We'll inspect the vehicle and quote any additional correction work upfront.

How do I wash my car after ceramic coating?

Use the two-bucket method with a pH-neutral soap, a soft microfiber wash mitt, and rinse thoroughly. Avoid automated brush car washes — they will scratch the coating over time. Touchless washes are fine. Don't wash for the first 7 days after application, and avoid wax-based products which can cloud the coating.

Is graphene better than ceramic?

Graphene is a newer formulation that adds carbon-based nanoparticles to traditional ceramic. The advantages are slightly better heat dissipation (less water spotting in hot weather) and an even slicker hydrophobic finish. We offer both options in our 1-year package — for higher tier coatings we use the GT Quartz ceramic formulations which are proven and warranty-backed.

What's included in the warranty?

The manufacturer warranty covers the coating's performance — specifically that it will continue to provide hydrophobic and protective properties for the duration of the warranty period when the vehicle is maintained per the care instructions we provide. The 10-year package includes a lifetime warranty on the coating itself.

How long does the application take?

For a sedan, expect 1–2 full days depending on the package and amount of paint correction needed. The 5-year package typically takes 2 days because of the more thorough correction process and multi-layer application. We'll give you an exact timeline before starting based on your vehicle's condition.
